First off, we're really just glad you're here. If you're reading this it probably already means that you're our people. We are a blended family of 4 with two kids and we love travel & photography. Micah and I are always down for an adventure and we kind of like story telling if you couldn't already tell. So, if you want us to help tell your story or you just want to read other's stories... Congrats! you're in the right place!
Joyful laughs, close friends and family, details colored in soft blues, pinks, and creams… that is what filled the First Baptist Church of Jackson, Alabama on the third of June. I love when brides have attention for detail and when your family gets to be a part of making those details pop it becomes all the more special.
Sara-Grace, my second shooter for this wedding, and I arrived early on Saturday to be able to get our footing on the best ways to capture these beautiful details. We were met with a challenge in the weather and had to put our thinking caps on, but we found the most gorgeous light inside the corridor of the Sanctuary and all of a sudden these detail shots were beyond beautiful. It’s amazing what pretty details and gorgeous light can do for a photo!
I shortly sent Sara-Grace off to document the groom and his groomsmen getting ready while I watched as Maggie stepped into her gown and her family and friends cried as she walked out to greet them. Her mom was on FaceTime with her Aunt and everyone was breathless. It was the sweetest moment.
When Maggie was ready, we went into the sanctuary to get a few bridal portraits and do a first look with her dad- I seriously LOVE moments like these. There is something so precious about the bond between a father and his daughter. Mr. Michael laid eyes on her and his face lit up. I could replay that moment in my mind forever. Maggie’s gown had a really beautiful detachable train and he even gave her a little spin to take it all in!
Now- it was time for the moment that Maggie and Sawyer would see each other for the first time. The anticipation was rising and they were both so anxious to see one another. The doors swung open while Sawyer stood at the end of the aisle waiting and watching for Maggie to appear. They both had so much joy on their faces when they finally laid eyes on each-other and Maggie seemingly almost ran down the aisle to meet him.
The sweetest moment was when Maggie and Sawyer brought out their sweet pup and even did a little first look with him! Y’all- I cannot say enough how much I love dogs being a part of weddings. I LOVE IT. (did you get that?)
Guests began to arrive shortly after we finished the formal photos and the ceremony was ready to begin. It was sweet and simple and nothing short of perfect. Maggie and Sawyer have been high-school sweethearts and their love is evident and effortless. It’s the kind you see in movies and you just don’t believe really exists. I am so blessed with couples who truly love and respect each-other.
When the ceremony was done, Maggie and Sawyer left to go straight to the reception and the party began!
I had such a fun time working with this couple and their families over the last year and can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.
Maggie and Sawyer- Thank You. I love you both and am forever grateful for you! Cheers!
