Samantha & Richard Allen | Elopement
Sam and Richard reached out to me a while back about photographing their engagement and their intimate ceremony by the Bay. This was a special time planned just for them and their parents (& yes- it was planned like this even BEFORE Covid-19!). My first impression of Sam was quite literally me exclaiming audibly โYES! These are MY PEOPLE!โ. In Samโs initial email she attached a screen shot of a portion of my website that defines my ideal client. It was then that I knew our hearts and passions aligned and that this would be an incredible time to celebrate this beautiful couple.
I arrived to the private bay house where the ceremony was to take place and from the moment I walked in I was in complete awe of how beautiful and romantic the home was. It was clear that it was filled with much history and love. When I asked about the home, I found out that it was actually Samโs motherโs childhood home and that she and her husband celebrated their own wedding reception there on the property as well.
Once I photographed the details and preparations with Sam I made my way outside to the ceremony location. What I found was an INCREDIBLE Oak tree with a limb hanging down along the horizon line of the bay behind it and it was COVERED in the most beautiful flower design I have truly ever seen. It was utterly enchanting and I kept repeating how amazed I was by the beauty and uniqueness of it. (Massive shout out to Wildflowers-Fairhope for their talent and design!)
Soon after I photographed the outside details, Sam and her father walked down to meet Richard under the oak tree while their other parents sat in beautiful love seats on the yard. The ceremony was sweet and filled with joy and love as Richard and Sam vowed their futures and their hearts to one another for life.
We celebrated at the end with the family and made our way around the property for photos of Richard and Sam- and of course their most handsome ring bearer- Brooks! Sam even asked to get in the bay and have photos taken with their old family dock in the background. Iโm telling you- I LOVE this adventurous couple!
